Recommendations for the coast
As for the Krabi portion of our trip, it was great, but definitely didn't compare to Chiang Mai. Krabi was a lot more touristy and overcrowded in general, there wasn't a ton to do, and there weren't many stellar restaurants or coffee shops. If you’re a fan of laying out on the beach, this might be a good place to go, but there wasn’t a ton of privacy. I’ve heard that Koh Tao is a more secluded trip if you’re looking for something coastal! I will say that island hopping in the long tail boats was beautiful and a fun experience worth doing.
