Food and coffee recommendations for a trip to CDMX
Food and coffee recommendations for a trip to cdmx
At the beginning of the month we had the chance to head to Mexico City in partnership with AeroMexico and the Portland International Airport. If you've never been before, please add it to your list! It was amazing for a quick trip, but we definitely could have stayed for weeks: we’ll be back for the Frida Kahlo Museum and more churros from Churrería El Moro. The weather was lovely (mid 70s in February) and we had so much delicious food and coffee.
Here’s our map with our favorites from the city
Hotel
We stayed at Izta 54 which was spacious and calm, with an excellent rooftop.
Coffee
Café Negro was the best coffee we had on the trip: we ended up going just about every day.
Breakfast & Lunch
Panadería Rosetta was excellent for pastries and coffee, and Ojo de Agua was a good call for breakfast — they had acai bowls, eggs and fresh sandwiches.
Dinner
Azul Condesa was quite possibly our favorite meal: we went after sunset and their candlelit balcony made us feel like we were up in a treehouse.
Dessert
You’ll find several Churrería El Moro locations all over the city: their churros were a major highlight!
Pool
Coming from Portland in the middle of February, it was quite necessary that we found a rooftop pool and spent one of our days in the sun.
I hope you get the chance to visit! I definitely plan to come back for an extended amount of time, especially since we stayed mostly in the Condesa neighborhood, leaving so much left to see.
Thanks to the Portland International Airport for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
