A Week in Maui, Hawaii
Recommendations from the West side of the island
Recommendations from the West side of the island
Nick and I just got back from a dream of a trip to Maui last week and I’ve been excited to share some photos from our time there and get a chance to post a bit more from the hotel we stayed at.
We spent the first few days at Hotel Wailea: a peaceful, adults-only resort on the West side of the island.
The property was incredible, our room was gorgeous – there was a waterfall shower, balcony overlooking the ocean, a sitting room and a small kitchen area.
The staff was so kind and so attentive, the food was to die for at every single meal and if you needed a ride down to the hotel's beach, they’d pick you up in a Tesla (couldn’t complain).
We ate poké nearly every day and drank our weight in smoothies, and overall got to take in so much beauty across the island. I last went to Hawaii about 7 years ago and Nick went when he was little, so it was really special to revisit together!
One of the days we drove around aimlessly, looking for quiet beaches to hang out at. We stumbled upon this spot which was perfect as a secluded place to read and swim.
Here is a map of our favorite spots: highlights include Merriman’s for a nice dinner out, Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice (you’ll probably want to go every day— and you should), Brekkie Bowls for crepés and smoothies, Grandma’s Coffee House for sandwiches and any food trucks you see are likely going to be killer for poké.
Driving the Road to Hana is a must: we made it to the most beautiful spot (below) right around sunset.
Such a wonderful few days at Hotel Wailea. Feeling so lucky to have stayed here! Hope you enjoyed this post and that you’re able to check out some of the spots on the map if you’re ever on the island.
