A review on Evapolar’s Personal Coolers.

Hi! I hope you’re having a pleasant Tuesday so far.

I’ve been looking forward to sharing about our new cooling units from Evapolar — we’re stoked to have these because our apartment only has a place for a portable AC unit in the living room, and the air doesn’t make its way back to the bedroom, so we had to get creative.

Evapolar’s units are really lightweight, making them very portable, so we carry them around from room to room throughout the day. They work with a USB-C cable, which is convenient outlet-wise, too.

The brand has three units available at the moment, and we went with the evaLIGHT plus (retailing at $150). The other units are the evaCHILL which is the most basic option, and the evaSMART which works with smart home features and an app. We didn’t need anything wild so we thought the plus would be a good option. At the price-point, it’s completely worth it for how efficient it is.

The code ‘samlandreth’ is good for 20% off of your purchase, by the way.

We like to bring one over to the desk while working on the rare but possible 98ºF days in the summer — these arrived just in time for the hottest part of the year.

Sleeping with this next to the bed is honestly so nice. A cooling humidifier having a full tank of water sent out into the air throughout the night helps me breathe easier and wake up feeling less dehydrated. An unexpected plus side.

The brand doesn’t use any Freon-like liquids for cooling, which is important. We didn’t want to be breathing in toxic fluids all night. The units also have an LED-backlight which can replace a night-light, if you’re seeking out that kind of feature.

Overall, you really can’t go wrong at $150 a unit. If you live in a small space or have a small room that doesn’t have a place for a window or wall unit, I’d recommend one or two of these. Last summer, we barely slept on the hottest days and with the handful we’ve had so far, it’s been a major difference. Waking up chilly is a concept that I welcome with open arms.

Evapolar stands for cooling efficiency. The brand was the first to introduce the concept of effective personal cooling to the market in 2015 — the functionality is based on a natural evaporative cooling technology. The idea behind the process is that while evaporating, water cools the air and surfaces around it.

The brand has won the Red Dot Design Award, an IF Design Award, Analyst's Choice 2017, Global Sources Green Product of the Year 2017, Business Intelligence Group and International Business of the Year 2017: Business Brilliance Awards.
