I finally sold my Birkenstock Bostons (in tobacco-oiled leather, by the way) last week after noticing that I hadn’t reached for them in years. I wanted to identify what was keeping me from them so I wouldn’t repeat the same mistake with future clog purchases: the sole of the shoe felt too thin and flimsy for the upper material—they didn’t feel like they were matching each other’s energy, so to speak. I have a long list of other clogs I think I’d enjoy much more, and to start, I picked up the Gardana clogs. Very excited to wear these with longer vintage shorts through the rest of the summer and carry them into literally every other season of the year. Also on this list are the rest of the clogs I’ve been considering buying: I’m so drawn to lots of these fun, bright options and I definitely need to narrow my colorful pick down to just one. Read on for my favorites…

Lena Chunky Mule, $180

These mules are made from smooth pebble leather and are elevated by the pristine white stitching on the bottom. Slip into a pair of socks for a look that carries you into fall and winter. Also available in butter yellow, black, and olive green.

Gardana clogs, $58 - $68

Plasticana shoes are made in France using a mix of recycled plastics and hemp fiber: hemp plants absorb carbon from the atmosphere and minimize fossil fuels that are normally associated with plastic production. These shoes are waterproof, and an innovative take on a timeless and practical style that is easy to slip on and off. The Gardana Clogs are ideal for gardening, cooking, working in the studio, and just about anything, anywhere.

Aeyde Bibi Clog, $170 on sale

These clogs feature gleaming midsole studs—stand out on a retro-inspired leather mule grounded by a woodgrain platform and block heel. Made in Italy. For another chic and streamlined option, see these Eckhaus Latta clogs.

Birkenstock Boston Soft Footbed Clogs in Suede, $160

If I end up with another pair of Birks, I’ll opt for these: love how the sole and upper match! I also really like the pale lime colorway. These essential suede clogs are built to last with durable suede and buckle strap accents laid on a soft footbed that offers long-lasting cushioning with high rebound capacity. These suede clogs are finished with a lightweight, flexible, durable, shock-absorbing EVA outsole.

Simon Miller Grip Bubble Clogs, $192 on sale

Obsessed with this powder pink color: this is such a good price…feeling tempted.

Merry People Billie Clog, $99

Perfect for the home and garden, the Billie Clog is a comfortable slip-on alternative to Merry People’s tall rain boots. The sole design offers enhanced traction on slippery surfaces with neoprene lining adding comfort to every step.

CAMPERLAB Off-White Traktori Clogs, $160 on sale

These Polished calfskin loafers feature an adjustable slingback strap, canvas lining and cushioned OrthoLite® Recycled™ footbed.
