Food, coffee and sightseeing recommendations

Earlier this month, I got to explore London with one of my best friends. So many amazing memories and one of my favorite trips ever: here are some highlights if you’re headed out on a solo or duo trip any time soon.

Walking Around

Walk around Shoreditch, go to Kensington to admire the architecture, and see Big Ben and the Tower Bridge. We walked nearly 10 miles every day as our main form of transit, essentially going from destination to destination on foot.

SHOPPING

Dover Street, Borough Market, Nike Lab, Absolute Vintage, Marylebone High Street (A little off the beaten path but there are tons of neat boutique shops and a famous bookshop called Daunt Books that's worth a visit), Oxford street is good: take a stroll through Harrods (get a milkshake, they're amazing and just about the only affordable thing in the store), and nearby there is Knightsbridge and Brompton Road with high-end shops.

COFFEE

Monmouth Coffee and Nude Coffee Roasters were the shops we revisited the most!

Sightseeing / activities

Go to Sky Garden for an insane view (definitely a tourist destination, but still gorgeous), head to Primrose Hill in Regents Park for beautiful views of the city, Piccadilly Circus to see a show, take a hop-on-hop-off bus tour around the city that gets you to the major sights if you’d like to knock a bunch out in one day.

Food

This was very much a budget trip for us so we ate a late breakfast at the hotel every day, then ate at casual cafés for dinner. We’d heard some general hype around Nando’s and ended up having that at one point and it was really amazing takeout peri-peri chicken. We also paid a visit to Milk Train Ice Cream: the space was so cute and the ice cream was equal parts adorable and delicious.

Museums

The British Museum, The National Gallery, Museum of London

Hotel

We stayed at Blake's Hotel: easily the prettiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite (lol) and we felt like princesses! The attention to detail in the space was unbelievable and it was essentially the bedroom of my dreams.

I’ve shared an array of favorite cafés and shops to check out on some Instagram posts from the trip, be sure to check them out if you’re planning to visit any time soon.

On my last day, I headed to Chiswick to stay the night so I could be a bit closer to the airport for an early flight the next morning. I ended up finding dinner at Grove Park Deli which was so quaint and lovely, and strolling around this neighborhood alone was the sweetest way to end the trip.

Head here if you’d like to book Blake’s Hotel. Thanks to the kind folks at Blake’s for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
