Guide to Marfa, Texas
What to do and see in Marfa.
I wanted to share some more photos from our recent trip to Marfa! There was really something special about this place. We drove from Dallas and it was about 9 hours each way, but you can fly into El Paso and drive 3 if you’re not into the all-day trek.
The sand dunes below were somewhat on the way — Monahans State Park. I highly recommend visiting at sunset.
Prada Marfa is an art installation on the side of the road into town, it’s iconic simply for what it is and definitely worth stopping for once.
The Chinati Foundation is the art gallery featuring Donald Judd's work: such a beautiful museum. Judd essentially put Marfa on the map as far as being an art-centered town.
El Cosmico is a sweet place to stay if you’re into glamping. You can rent teepees, camper vans and airstreams.
We stayed at The Canteen. It was a little backyard house with huge doors for walls. It came with a little outdoor shower and a detached bathroom.
I hope that you get a chance to check it out one day— it’s definitely worth the trip.
