A couple of weeks ago, I tried out the mixed pack from Maker Wines. My favorite ended up being the Carbonic Red, but each of them (an Albariño and Orange Vermentino) were delightful in their own way. I wanted to share a bit more about the vision behind the brand here as I really resonate with their mission!
Maker partners with diverse, small-batch winemakers to elevate underrepresented voices and premium wines: they always prioritize wine producers that use organic and sustainable farming practices. Their wines are fermented to dry, with no residual sugar (and under five carbs per serving). Read more about how Maker selects their wines and audits the entire process.
I often get messages from people who don’t live in major cities wondering where to purchase natural wine. (Luckily, our Natural Wine Directory is still on the way— you can expect to see it online by early Summer.) Ordering bottles and cans online is going to be the best place to start if you’re struggling to find any in your local shops. Initially, I was somewhat skeptical of canned wine, assuming it wasn’t going to be the same, but I notice absolutely no difference when it comes to natural wine in a can vs. a bottle: it’s always just as great.
