Haircare, wellness and home cooking items I’ll be repurchasing
Over the past year, I’ve dialed in my hair routine, discovered some tried-and-true skincare favorites, drink mixes, and other essentials that enhance my everyday cooking at home. I’ve been through several rounds of each product and thought I would gather them all here so I can share some thoughts on each of them all at once— hoping this is helpful for anyone looking into brands like Crown Affair, Poppi, Ceremonia, Momofuku, Brightland, Rose Inc, Clevr Blends, and Goop.
Crown Affair — The Renewal Hydrating Hair Mask, $58
I’ve officially been through three of the Crown Affair masks and I don’t think I could love them more. The mask smells delightful, has the silkiest consistency, and gets every last tangle out of my hair. It’s been especially helpful in hydrating my ends since dying my hair recently and bringing moisture back in to my natural texture.
Ceremonia — Pequi Curl Activator, $27
You will simply never catch me without a bottle of this: it’s the first product I scrunch into my hair after rinsing out my shampoo and conditioner and it helps define my waves more than anything else I use. Ingredient spotlight: pequi oil supports curl health and maximizes definition while castor oil adds flexibility and shine, and the murumuru butter seals hair cuticles for softer, more-hydrated hair.
Rose Inc — Micellar Makeup Remover, $26
This has become my favorite pre-cleanse product: it leaves my skin feeling silky and so hydrated. Love that it’s refillable and made for sensitive skin.
GOOPGLOW — Glow Lotion, $58
This moisturizer absorbs into my skin instantly and is the perfect everyday base. Made with active levels of a spirulina enzyme and a special protein to help protect against light aggressors, plus antioxidant vitamin C and Kakadu plum for glow, it sinks right in to moisturize with sugar-derived squalane and Brazilian curupay extract.
The Ordinary — AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, $9.50
If you know, you know— a facial in a bottle.
The Nue Co — Debloat+ Supplement, $45
I’ve been subscribed to this supplement for years and it’s been the only thing that helps after I consume gluten 🙃 I recommend this to everyone I know: it’s truly the best. I take 1-2 supplements daily and it contains turmeric, licorice root, and a blend of 17 digestive enzymes. Shop other essentials from The Nue Co.
Brightland — The artist capsule, $150
You can’t go wrong with any of these olive oils from Brightland, though the Arise (basil) oil is my favorite. These are so luxurious and add that perfect final layer of depth to every meal. These bottles last me about six months and are well-worth the investment.
Momofuku — Chili Crunch Sauce, $10-13
With three types of Mexican chilis, crunchy garlic and shallots, the Chili Crunch from Momofuku adds a perfect punch of heat and texture and I manage to find a way to use every day.
Clevr Blends — Sleeptime SuperLatte $28 ($2/latte)
This is my current favorite sleep-inducing nightcap: it tastes like a toasted marshmallow cappuccino and features valerian root, passionflower, hops, and L-theanine, and is free of melatonin. I’ve found valerian root to be most effective in helping me sleep, and some of the teas I’ve tried don’t taste the best. This drink mix is quite the opposite— I look forward to drinking it every night.
Poppi — Classic Cola (on average) $2.50/can
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a centuries-old homeopathic remedy, and there’s about one tablespoon of it in every can of Poppi. This brand makes the best lineup of natural alternatives to soda and I truly can’t get enough. My husband and I ration these out and make sure we’ve always got a few on hand. Other favorites include raspberry rose, cherry limeade, strawberry lemon, and root beer.
Planning on sharing more day-to-day roundups like this on Instagram in the months to come, feel free to say hello!
