A Parisian-Inspired City Guide

Vintage Outfit Inspiration on samanthanicole.co

Hello! Hope you’re having a lovely week.

I’ve been very excited to share this French-inspired city guide with you featuring a handful of my favorite Portland shops and restaurants that remind me of quaint European storefronts and cafés. Read on for the map to the city — and a chance to win a trip to France at the end (!)

My Favorite Euro-Inspired Dining, Drinks and Shopping in Portland

How cute is the map of the city? Now you can experience a sweet Parisian day trip around town and pretend you’re in the Cote d'azur.

I’ve loved partnering with Oui by Yoplait to make this map come to life. If you’re not familiar, Oui is a French style yogurt made with simple ingredients — inspired by Yoplait’s traditional French recipe.

Saturday — 01

I kicked off my Euro-inspired weekend around town with a quiet morning at home. Ideally, I like to start my days journaling with a fruit-forward cup of coffee that my husband makes for us in one of several different methods (Chemex, Kalita Wave, v60, etc.) I paired my cup of coffee with a delicious coconut Oui by Yoplait. I like to top these off with a few berries and granola, too.

Next up on the agenda was a visit to Maurice. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been into this sweet spot, and I’m so glad I had the chance to swing by. I’m a particular fan of their pastries and their interior is so calm and cozy.

Later in the day, for wine and snacks, we paid a visit to Bar Norman. This is easily my favorite natural wine bar in town: it’s the best vibe.

As you can see, they’ve got a lovely selection of bottles to choose from and they pour by the glass as well. It’s definitely my place of choice to meet friends or go for a date night.

Sunday — 01

On your lazy Sunday morning, there’s nowhere I’d recommend more than Vivienne. It’s so dreamy and they have the tastiest breakfast sandwiches in town. When I moved back to Portland a few years ago, I’d come here every week to journal and eat an egg sandwich. Good for morale.

Sunday — 02

I love to thrift and visit inspiring shops around town on the weekends, and Seven Sisters is one of the best. Full of perfectly curated, women-owned brands, this reminds me of so many wonderful European clothing stores.

Next up, we’ve got Providore Fine Foods. Every visit to this grocery is such a treat. It’s tiny, super-local, and features some really amazing Oregon purveyors. Stop in for some fruit, bubbly and baguette and have a picnic at Laurelhurst Park.

Close out your weekend in Portland with a meal at Jaqueline. Make reservations or walk in and try to sit at the bar. This very well be my favorite meal on this side of the country. Get the lobster bun or crab toast and duck potatoes and try a drink or two, you will not be dissapointed. Also, the restaurant is in-theme with The Life Aquatic: this makes for the sweetest interior. The whole experience is always phenomenal.

If you’re interested in entering for a chance to win a trip to Marseille, you can head right here. I recently shared a post from mine and Nick’s day trip to Marseille during our honeymoon, if you’d like a little inspo and an idea of what you might experience there.

I’m looking forward to sharing more from these places on Instagram in the weeks to come — until then, stop over to the Oui website or Pinterest for some glass pot upcycled DIYs and other ideas.

Be sure to enter that Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to France, and let me know if you visit any of the spots on the map. More soon! Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Oui by Yoplait but all opinions are my own.
