A Few Days in the Faroe Islands

I was lucky to travel to the Faroe Islands during my recent trip around Europe, and it was truly incredible. It was lovely to see sprawling acres of land that have remained untouched everywhere we drove, and apparently there are more sheep than people on the whole island.
If you ever get the chance to fly in, absolutely do it! It’s something that you can see over the course of three days or so: you don't need much longer than that. It’s a small island but there’s so much beauty. I’m glad to have made the trip with my friend Sam!
Etika Sushi was our favorite spot for food: I’m not sure if I’ve ever had such fresh and flavorful sushi at any other point in my life. Still dreaming about that meal.
Other than that, we found some fish and chips at a small walkup spot and ate food from the grocery store as well as snacks that we packed. As it turned out, not a lot was open food-wise during our visit but we made the best of it!
We stayed right in town at Hotel Havn and were walking distance to shops and restaurants, it was a solid central location.
The hiking and sightseeing in the Faroes was breathtaking: witnessing the lake above the ocean was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Here are some of the hikes and views that you can experience while there. It was fairly cloudy our entire trip being that we went in the springtime, but I have to imagine that sunset at any of these spots would be truly magical.
