Sustainably-made, timeless silhouettes for my ladies on my wedding day
I’m currently working on an array of different wedding-related posts as a part of a series sharing our elopement planning process, wedding party outfits, our outfits and various aspects of our wedding day and this is the first. I couldn’t be more grateful for the very lowkey format in which we chose to do everything for our wedding: getting married in a field during golden hour in the desert and having dinner and getting stick n’ poke tattoos afterward was all I could’ve asked for.
One of the first things we considered when planning our elopement was what we were going to do as far as outfits went for our bridal party. Ultimately, we decided on The Black Tux rentals for the guys and Sézane dresses for the girls. We went with an all-black outfit theme for everyone and chose three simple, elegant dresses for the girls. Most important to me was just making sure they’d be able to wear these dresses over and over, as many times a year as they’d like.
We knew it would be pretty ideal weather (about 70ºF) on our wedding day, so choosing knee-length dresses felt right. They also felt far more wearable than a long, flowing, traditional bridesmaid dress that likely wouldn’t be worn more than once.
For Maresa, we chose the Brigitte dress; for Micaela, we chose the Armance dress and for Kendra; we chose the Penelope dress. Sweet Kendra got terribly sick days before the wedding and couldn’t make it, but I wanted to include her dress in this post so you could see our process and all of our selections!

I’m so happy that we chose these simple, sweet looks for the wedding. Sézane is one of my all-time favorite brands for mindfully-made pieces, and these dresses are no exception.
I’d encourage you to consider choosing a timeless and wearable silhouette for your bridesmaids (they’ll love you for it!). Being able to re-wear their dresses to work, parties, events or as a daily look dressed down is such a good way to go.
