Fall on the French Riviera, Part III
For the last five days of our honeymoon, we stayed in Le Suquet in Cannes.
If you plan to stay in Cannes at any point, I’d really recommend doing so in this part of town. It’s full of colorful homes, winding staircases and cobblestone roads. We used Cannes as more of a home base for day trips along the coast, which worked out so well!
Here’s some film from around our Airbnb in Cannes and from a day trip to Antibes:
Dining in Cannes
Head to La Casa di Nonna for any meal of the day, Bobo Bistro for dinner (our favorite in Cannes) and Novåa Social Food for breakfast or lunch.
A Day in Nice
Paper Plane for brunch, Babel Babel for dinner and natural wine, Very Bad Frip for vintage.
An overlook in Antibes
We loved Babel Babel. We drove to Nice during the afternoon (from Cannes), and the highways ended up flooding. It was wild because this restaurant was directly next to the ocean, and water was coming up over the wall from the ocean and making its way to the door of the restaurant. We made friends with the owner and he was highly unconcerned and told us we could stay there as long as we wanted to. We ended up having one of the best meals of our trip, split a bottle of wine, booked a hotel down the street on HotelTonight and then went back to Cannes in the morning. Ended up being a welcome detour :’)
This natural wine was amazing: as I write this post, I’m reminded of that and just found a bottle from a shop in New York and might have ordered one online :-)
And as they say, low quality photos, high quality meal: it was delicious. Don’t sleep on this place if you ever end up in Nice! Read about our day trip to Marseille and time in Aix-En-Provence.
